What red light therapy is

Red light therapy, also called photobiomodulation, bathes the skin in red and near-infrared light from rows of LEDs. Visible red light works near the surface of the skin; invisible near-infrared light, up to about 940 nm, reaches about an inch and a half into the body.

The idea behind it: the mitochondria in your cells, the “powerhouses” that make energy (ATP), absorb the light and make more energy, so cells can work and repair themselves more efficiently. Research is ongoing.

Our red light bed

You lie in the bed with the canopy lowered, in a private room. Patients use red light sessions for relaxation, for skin and body-contouring goals, and alongside their chiropractic care. Some travel more than 30 miles to use it. Results vary from person to person.

Introductory red light session: $47. Call (775) 762-3184 or request an appointment to book one.

Far-infrared sauna and shower

A far-infrared sauna warms the body with infrared light, so it works at a lower air temperature than a traditional steam sauna. It makes for a deeply relaxing session, and there’s a shower in the office for afterwards.
